I am based in Charlottesville, Virginia, surrounded by the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains. I began taking black and white film photos over twenty five years ago, with my first camera being the Nikon F my father had purchased in Japan in 1964 after a tour in Vietnam. In 2009, after the recent birth of my first child, I came to understand the incompatibility of motherhood and dark rooms, and switched to digital. With this change came an increased focus on color photography, though black and white will forever be my first love.
